It is important that you read this information; it contains everything you need to know about booking your semi-permanent makeup treatment.
For all new semi-permanent eyebrow treatments: the price includes a top-up treatment, which takes place 4–6 weeks after the initial treatment. We will book this during your consultation on the day of your appointment.
It is important that you have this treatment no less than 4 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after a sun holiday involving high sun exposure, as the tattoo will not yet be healed. While on holiday, please cover the treated area with high-factor sunblock.
If you would like a skin test, please arrange this when booking your appointment. It is optional and a precaution in case of pigment allergies. This must be done at least 24 hours before treatment.
You cannot have this treatment if you are pregnant.
You must be over 18 to undergo this treatment.
Do not have your brows tinted or have brow lamination less than 2 weeks before your appointment - the strong chemicals on your skin could interfere with the implantation of the pigment.
If you wear eyelash extensions, do not book an application or infill within a week of your eyebrow tattoo. The strong fumes from the glue may cause infection, and your lash technician may touch the healing brow tattoo.
Please do not drink alcohol 24 hours before or on the day of treatment, as it thins the blood, making treatment difficult and potentially preventing pigment from settling. Aspirin is also a blood thinner, so do not take it on the day of your treatment.
If you are on blood-thinning tablets or antibiotics, wait at least a week after finishing the course. Antibiotics may remove the pigment, resulting in a faded tattoo.
You cannot have a cosmetic tattoo while taking Accutane; this medication thins the skin, increasing sensitivity and affecting healing, potentially causing scarring.
Do not have Botox or fillers 2 weeks prior to or 2 weeks after treatment, as this may affect healing and eyebrow positioning due to swelling.
Please contact me regarding any medications you are taking before booking your appointment.
Aftercare:
All aftercare instructions are provided on the day of your appointment. Keep the treatment area dry for the 2-week healing period.
You can use Vaseline or coconut oil on your brows for the first 5–7 days, a couple of times a day, to keep them moist and prevent excessive drying and peeling, especially if you have dry skin.
You can continue your daily routine, but clean your face with cleansing wipes instead of water. Be careful when washing your hair in the shower.
Avoid strenuous gym sessions/classes while the brows heal, as sweat can affect the treatment area.
Do not use sunbeds 2 weeks before or 4 weeks after your appointment, as sun damage can cause pigment loss, and the heat and UV rays will affect healing.
You can wear makeup around the treatment area, but not on it while it is healing, to avoid infection.
This is advice you must follow. Failing to follow it will lead to less-than-perfect healing, and extra, chargeable treatments may be required.
